VOSCO began with old tools. Simple, honest forms made for a single purpose, used for generations. Simple, honest forms made for a single purpose. Over time, their handles round and soften, gradually conforming to the hand. A beauty that deepens with use.
In the forest, not every tree grows straight. Curved, knotted, irregular wood is often left behind—too imperfect for furniture, too alive to waste. VOSCO is made from this wood. Each piece carries its own grain, its own history.
Inside, a metal core carries most of the weight. The wood shares the load—but it is never asked to bear more than it can. That is what lets curved, knotted wood become a lamp.
A piece of wood, once part of a forest, now rests in someone’s hands, quietly illuminating daily life. That is what I hoped to make.

From the first presentation to Ambientec, March 2024—still under its working name, Matello. Japanese workshop and kitchen tools: nothing decorative, every form earned by use.
Wood samples in daylight at the studio in Brooklyn: blackened ash to walnut, maple, oak—every wood, compared side by side.
The metal finish was the hardest part: every disc wears a slightly different finish—one lit, to judge them in light.
From the Milan press preview, March—weeks before the Salone launch. The lamp, and the why in Italian: unmanaged forests decline; wood long judged unfit for furniture—bent, knotted, small—brought back into daily life.

VOSCO in walnut—light, wherever the evening happens.
The light passes through a Fresnel lens—soft, uniform, without glare. Five brightness levels, from candlelight to reading light. A full charge lasts up to 500 hours.
The wooden component comes in three sizes and three woods—walnut, maple, oak—and can be swapped over time.
